Larry Wood joined Ackerman & Co. as a Senior Vice President in March of 2009.With more than 35 years of Commercial Real Estate experience, Larry Wood has been involved in transactions that led to some of the city’s most notable and iconic developments. Larry has vast knowledge and experience in the marketing and acquisition of developable land for a variety of commercial uses, including regional malls, power centers, mixed-use developments, multi-family projects and free-standing retail stores. In his career, Larry has brokered the sale of more than seven million square feet of shopping centers and retail buildings, has held the successful exclusive listings for the leasing of nine shopping centers and has sold more than 175 regional mall peripheral sites and other retail related properties. Prior to joining Ackerman & Co. Larry was with Bullock Mannelly Partners in Atlanta and Carter, where he spent 25 years.
- ALEXAN 360 - Represented the land owner in the sale of 9.8 acres at Freedom Parkway and Interstate 75/85 in Downtown Atlanta to Trammell Crow Residential for development of Alexan 360, a 592 unit multifamily development. The property sold for $17.5 million in October, 2007.
- EDGEWOOD RETAIL DISTRICT - Represented Atlanta Gas Light Company in the sale of 34 acres to The Sembler Company for development of the $110 million mixed use Edgewood Retail District on Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta. The project contains 550,000 square feet of retail space including Lowes, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Kroger and Target, with 350 residential units. The land sale price was $30 million.
- Southlake Regional Mall - Sold more than 50 development sites adjacent to this major South Atlanta regional center for development of specialty shopping centers, banks, restaurants, office buildings, automobile dealerships, hotels and other commercial users.
- Carolina Place Regional MalL - Sold 18 sites, encompassing 60 acres of land, along the periphery to one of Charlotte’s largest area malls.
- Liberty Place Retail Center - Sold 12 sites, encompassing 75 acres of land for this Nashville area power center.
- REPRESENTED RETAILERS - rooms to go and Toys R Us upon their entry into the Atlanta and Southeast market with the assignment to identify and negotiate the purchase of prime commercial/retail parcels for more than 60 free-standing retail stores of 25,000 to 50,000 square feet along with five large distribution warehouse development sites in a five-state Southeast market.
- Alvin B. Cates Award, given annually by the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors for “Atlanta’s Most Outstanding Commercial Real Estate Transaction”
