Professional Experience

David Payne spent 13 years in the commercial real estate industry, having founded a successful brokerage firms before arriving at Ackerman & Co. in 2010. He has served both Atlanta and major national companies with their real estate needs and has executed more than 1.5 million square feet in corporate leases in the past 10 years..

Mr. Payne focuses on providing Brokerage Services to office users with lease negotiation, space evaluation, survey and analysis of available properties and client-specific market data. Mr. Payne works with the client throughout the transaction process, from defining the space requirement through construction and move-in. His main emphasis is to provide those he represents with the highest quality service and integrity. His history of long-term relationships with his clients demonstrates both integrity and success.

Prior to joining Ackerman & Co. Mr. Payne was founder of Benchmark Commercial Real Estate Services LLC, an Atlanta-based tenant real estate representation firm, which grew to more than 15 million dollars in annual sales. He sold Benchmark in 2008.

While real estate has always been in Mr. Payne’s blood – he first began to invest in real estate in his early 20’s – Mr. Payne is an avid sailor and owns a Tayana 37 sail boat located in North Carolina. In 2008, Mr. Payne embarked upon a two-year solo sailing trip, which canvassed the entire East Coast and the Bahamas.
