Chitra Subbarayan has been with Ackerman & Co. since 2000. During her years with the firm she has used her background in economic development to promote new development and redevelopment projects in metro Atlanta. As president of Infoservices International, Inc. prior to joining Ackerman & Co., Ms. Subbarayan provided economic development consulting and marketing services to cities and counties in metro Atlanta. In working with cities and counties in the region, she was able to increase investment and create jobs through private investment and leveraging county, state and federal grant programs to benefit the communities she served. She has assisted local development authorities with repositioning properties for their highest and best use and promoted public-private partnerships as a vehicle to create momentum for projects.
- Turtle River CID, Brunswick, GA: Responsible for marketing 3,000 acres of mixed-use land with access to rail and the break-bulk port in Brunswick.
- Development Authority of Jones County, GA: Marketing 972 acres of land for industrial development
- Walker County/Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority: Representative for the development and marketing of 500 acres of industrial land. Proposing direct rail to warehouse concept to attract automotive, advanced manufacturing and warehousing to support the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN
- City of College Park: Acquisition of 30 acres of commercially zoned land
- Hapeville Development Authority: Disposition of properties owned by the Authority to support the stabilization of their downtown retail
